The history of the Springfield Range has been derived from three different clubs that were utilizing the range but due to increased costs in operating, problems in managing, and costs associated with up and coming re-certification the voting majority members of the three clubs agreed to have one organization oversee and manage the facility properly.  Thus Springfield Sports Club Inc. is born Jan 2008.  From there the new Board of directors created FRSA as the Shooting Arm of the Springfield Sports Club Inc.  

Since doing so, the membership has soared to over 150 members in 2008.  The board of directors were able to conduct various range improvement projects and host a full calendar of events.
